Global Style Hostess Gift DIY: Wine Bottle Charm

November 6, 2017 by CORINNA HENDERSON

the-global-styler-header

This time of year is so special and my favorite part of all the magic is the generosity. People are especially giving with random acts of kindness, hosting of gatherings, and exchanging gifts. It’s a beautiful restoration in the faith of humanity. If you’re planning on attending any hosted events, you’ll probably want to thank the host for their time and hospitality with a hostess gift. Today, I’m going to show you how you can create a global goods inspired bottle charm for wine, liquor, sparkling ciders, fancy sodas, etc. Using tassels and felt balls, it’s not only easy to make but also very festive.

You could customize this craft to suit a variety of gifting ideas. Make it larger to fit around a jar for a number of jar related gifts. Fit it around the neck of a vase for gifting flowers. Swap the embroidery floss for elastic and turn them into bracelets. Definitely get creative and make things that fit the person you’ll be giving it to!

Let’s dive into how to make a…

DIY Felt and Tassel Wine Bottle Gift Charm

Supplies:

Supplies: tassels, bottled drink, felt balls, embroidery thread and needle

Tassels  (Don’t forget your coupon! I always use the app for convenience)

Bottled Drink (it doesn’t have to be alcohol, think sparkling ciders, fancy sodas, etc)

Felt Balls (I bought mine at Michaels but this one from Amazon is cheaper)

Embroidery Thread (the color doesn’t really matter as it’s hidden for the majority of it)

Embroidery Needle (If you don’t buy these, just look for a large eye and sharp point)

The How-To:

How to make a felt ball and tassel wine bottle charm adornment for Hostess gift giving.

Processed with VSCO with preset

Start by threading the tassel onto the middle of an 18 inch long piece of embroidery floss. Then thread both ends of the thread onto an embroidery needle. Thread 2 felt balls onto the thread.

Then, diagonally thread one of the piece of thread through a third felt ball. Then thread the other piece the other direction, diagonally. This is where the felt balls will split around the neck of the bottle.

Finally, thread 7 balls onto each piece of floss and tie them together into a knot. Snip the remainder off with scissors.

You can then slide it over the top of your hostess’ favorite bottled drink (sparkling cider, wine, vodka- anything goes) and you’ve got a festive, globally inspired hostess gift.

I love these so much that the idea of parting with them makes me want to keep them for myself. And, to be completely honest, they’re hanging on my kitchen cabinet knobs right now while I decide. Haha.

Thoughts On A Tuesday

October 24, 2017 by CORINNA HENDERSON

One of our recent hiking trips.
One of our recent hiking trips.

I put on a vintage wrist watch today.

I needed to be able to tell what time it was while we went to the beach. I didn’t want to rush the little trip by being anxious about what time it was and I also wanted to make sure we got back home at a decent time. Normally I’d do this with my phone, but I don’t have a phone right now.

It’s 2017 and the idea of being without a phone seems archaic. Normally I’d not go anywhere if I thought my phone may die whilst out because a part of me is terrified of breaking down and being unable to call for help. These past few days, I’ve realized it does so much more for me. Like tracking time.

So yes, I broke my phone. And because phone companies require you to pay off your phone in monthly installments (or pay the whole $800+ up front), I still owe another $180 if I want to upgrade. If it wasn’t broken, I could trade it in to waive that remainder. But it’s very broken. Anyways, I grabbed a book (Bohemian Manifesto) and my great grandmother’s vintage Bulova watch and we set out for the beach.

Speaking of the book. I happened to have a $50 Amazon gift card. And while grabbing the heating element for my broken dryer, I also grabbed a set of macrame plant hangers, bedroom pillow cases and the book- Bohemian Manifesto. Did you know Goodwill sells used books (and possibly other merchandise) through Amazon? I grabbed it for just a couple of dollars including shipping. I haven’t gotten very far because my son asks three thousand questions every five minutes, but I am enjoying it so far.

Oh, and I realize it may seem odd to be visiting the beach just a week before Halloween, but we only have intermittent days of coolness up until the last few days before Halloween. Then it will go cold. My son played in the water and we walked the whole length of the beach and we collected all sorts of interesting shells, coral, and crab parts left behind from earlier high tides.

From a beach trip earlier this month.
From a beach trip earlier this month.

Even though it’s been warm, the mosquitoes have still been bad enough to keep us indoors more than I’d like. I’m quite a sunshine junkie and it makes sense now that I know a good chunk of my joint paint is from vitamin D deficiencies. I also have arthritis and hypothyroidism, but even when those were being managed, I was still experiencing joint pain and blood tests confirmed that I also end up deficient in vitamin D, primarily this time of year through mid Spring. This year I started feeling that familiar paint about a week and a half ago. So I started taking my favorite multi-vitamin and I’m back to the usual. It’s vegan, but it’s so well rounded that I think anyone should use it.

The phone thing really sucks though. The reality is, trying to live without any cell communication just isn’t feasible. I have a young child who I wouldn’t want to leave stranded in a broken down car or worse, a car accident. And it’s our only means of calling for help should the house catch fire, etc. I’ll owe the remaining $180 balance regardless of what route I’d choose to go. Or $175 should I file a claim for a new phone. Considering I just did that this past March, it stings worse. I had it in an Otterbox (this one) and had one of those “self healing” screen protectors. But a 2 foot drop demolished the screen. I can’t view anything.

I think all of this has led me to the conclusion that I don’t want to continue buying top tier phones here on out. They’re expensive long term and fragile which leads to more expense. I do a lot of photography and videography and editing from my phone so it can’t be a clunker, but I don’t think I’m prepared to spend another $1,000+ for two years worth of phone again. Just… no.

I have to admit though, the ticking of the watch on my wrist is very relaxing.

Grey Toned Art Prints

October 20, 2017 by CORINNA HENDERSON

It’s time again for one of my curated art collections. The best part about these photos are that they are free to use for personal and commercial use. Since it’s getting darker and greyer outside thanks to the arrival of Fall, I wanted to honor this season we are in with grey toned art prints.

I like grey toned art because it evokes a tone of melancholy and I’m dramatic and love that ish. But I think art goes a long way in pulling together a space to have the vibe you want it to have. Some of these have a whimsical, ethereal feel to them. Others have a more serious, toned down vibe to them. Whichever direction you want to take your space, I think these photos are all beautiful on their own or in a collection together.

So, again, these are from site that offer a cc0 license which makes them free to print off and use at home, or you can use them in commercial projects like building a blog theme, using them as background in prints, sticking them on merchandise, etc. My favorite use for these prints are simply that, as prints. Stick them in a frame, hang them on the wall, and enjoy cheap, yet fabulous, art.

To download is simple, click the picture you want to save and it will open the media file in a new tab. Right click it and save.

Colorful Boho Kid’s Room Plans

October 17, 2017 by CORINNA HENDERSON

My son is 5 years old now. His bedroom is the first space I worked on after buying our home and it hasn’t been touched since. Kids grow and evolve fast and it doesn’t take them long to begin having an opinion on their spaces. I’ve been lucky enough to have a sweet child who has never questioned why his room isn’t getting attention like the rest of the house. It’s actually quite surprising given he has such an interest in decorating. I still feel guilty about it though so it’s been bumped to priority number one.

He’s had two requests for his room this past year. The first being a bunk bed. He decided he wanted a bunk bed on his own and as someone who loves good home design, this is a bit of a challenge for me. I’ve seen very cute spaces with bunk beds but they’re either custom builds or very expensive sets. I’m handier than your regular Jane, but I’m not handy enough to follow or design plans for a bunk bed. And I certainly don’t have the budget to buy a fancy bunk bed. I’m sure you understand that feel.

With this request on the forefront, I’d begun doing some research to see what I could find. I tried IKEA first but wasn’t in love with anything I found. Since he still has trouble falling asleep on his own often, I wanted an option that had a full bed on bottom. And I wanted a twin on top to keep the room as bright as possible. One night when late night internet perusing, I found the Mainstays Premium twin-over-full bunk bed. And I thought it look chic af in the demonstration picture.

830fc361-3f64-49c2-b805-2c599392a55c_1.adc014167a5023f4d3e2152a23c80a74

I was convinced it wasn’t going to look that cool in real life, but at less that $200 I had to pick it up. The squared off shape instead of the classic round bars gives it a fresh, modern look. I went with black because I worried that the silver finish would look…. bad. I’m sure you know what I mean. Every cheap metal finish furniture has it. That bad silver/nickel finish. I guess I’ll never know if this one does have that bad look since I went with black but I’m happy with that decision.

Other than the bed, the only other request has been lots of plants. Yes, I know, he’s a pretty amazing kid. So we picked up an umbrella plant and aloe vera for his room. Last month I’d stopped by our local Master Gardener’s plant sale and picked up a spider plant and he claimed that for his room. I have terrible luck with sansevieria and had tossed one that had gone bad outside in a pot. Apparently the changing seasons, crap weather, and human neglect caused it to sprout 3 good leaves. So we put it in a pot my son chose and that’s going in his room, too. He keeps begging to go to Home Depot for more… but I still have work to do!

When I made over the room 5 years ago, I was obsessed with old houses and wanted to try and infuse the old house feel in our home with stain and paint. I’d painted the walls Stonington Grey and refinished the floors black. Well…. turns out this small house doesn’t do so well with grey walls and black floors. It makes it feel cold and cave-like. So I’ve started painting the walls bright, straight out of the can, white. Next weekend we will sand the floors. Then I’ll seal them with a varnish. And then we can talk plants.

The bunk bed will go in the space. And the vertical campainger dresser I scored back when I had a craigslist purchasing problem will go into the space. If I haven’t completely run out of energy after the sanding and painting, I hope to paint the dresser a fun color.

When I specifically pried for more information on what he wants, he gave me the most exciting answer- he wants “a rainbow room.” Uhm… Yeah… I can totally do that! A happy, rainbow space sounds like something I’ve spent my whole life waiting for. My inner hippie (let’s be real, it’s pretty outward, too) is ready to let loose.

Here’s the rough plans:

rainbow-kids-room-moodboard

Bunk Bed

Tapestry for Bedspread

Multi-Color Globe Light Strand

Colorful Crosses Lampshade

Watercolor Rainbow Art

Rainbow Print

ABC Print

Be A Rainbow Print

Watercolor Spot Print

Triangle Shelves

Basket Macrame Plant Hanger

Rainbow Wall Hanging

And so that’s what I’m starting with. I’m 1 solid coat in and I’m working through my second coat of paint. It’ll need at least one more. Hopefully I’ll finish the painting this week like I have planned to do and will have a more interesting update next week. Be well!

Everything keeps going wrong. Always.

October 15, 2017 by CORINNA HENDERSON

My living room hasn't looked like this in a really long time.
My living room hasn’t looked like this in a really long time.

A couple nights ago, I slept on the floor. I had watched a youtube video about a minimalist family that slept on the floor. a few days prior to that. But that’s not why I slept on the floor. My son’s room is completely gutted right now as I’m painting and refinishing the floors before putting together the bunk bed in that space. He and his dad slept in our bed. And being an average 5 year old, he wears a pull up. This night he managed to pee so much he peed through the pull up. There was a pee spot where I’d normally sleep. I was sleeping on the couch, thankfully. I sleep quite well there and prefer it, actually. The next night my son was missing me and came out to lay with me on the couch. It was tight but I appreciated the warmth. But he had taken his pull up off and, sure enough, started to pee on me in his slumber. I had no where else to sleep. So I slept on the floor.

Everything keeps going wrong. Always.

I’ve been trying my damnedest to homeschool him. He has no formal education. We didn’t qualify for any pre-kindergarten programs. He went to daycare briefly but we couldn’t afford the doctor’s visits on top of the daycare charges. He was getting strep within a few days of returning after treatment over and over. My mom watched him. Unfortunately, I was so busy at work, sometimes only getting to put him down for bed that day, that I didn’t notice he wasn’t getting educated during his time there. So now he’s 5 and is struggling to learn his abc’s and 123’s. I’m trying all the resources but it doesn’t seem to be clicking for him. I’m teetering on the edge of whether or not to put him in public school. We only have full day kindergarten here and while I already don’t think he’s ready for it, he’s also absolutely terrified of it. With the anxiety problems many people on my side of the family have faced, I’m worried forcing him will trigger full blown anxiety. He’s a bright boy, just not in the way the schools mandate he be.

Everything keeps going wrong. Always.

I went to dry a load of laundry for, I think, the fifth time about 2 weeks ago. That’s when the fog from my brain cleared and I realized there was something wrong. The dryer had literally just stopped and the clothes were cold. There was no heat. It’s getting colder outside. This is not good. And so, for about two weeks, I’ve been hanging all of my clothes to dry. I started pulling the dryer apart and did a bit of research online and it looked, for certain, that it was the heating element. And there’s no fixing a heating element, there’s replacing a heating element. The thing is, my washer has been having a weird issue where it won’t spin out all of the water from whatever we wash. So it’s likely the result of putting off that issue for so long. So now I’m buying a heating element, putting that in, and then moving onto the washer’s suspension issue. Yeah, I googled the code that comes up when the washer stops during it’s spin cycle. I also get to try and figure that one out, too. I feel like my entire life is one big irony fest. We only have this washer and dryer because a few years ago, our dryer stopped working. And my father in law insisted on buying us a new set instead of just buying a basic dryer to replace the broken one. Now I’m fixing both. And I have peed on bedding I need to wash.

Everything keeps going wrong. Always.

And then there’s my little hashtag. #Showmeyourboho was started nearly two years ago. Many friends had started their own tags and were collaborating with other people on tags. I was feeling a little left out since I’m never asked to collaborate on things. Then the issue of reposting content you don’t own kind of blew up  because it was, and still is, against Instagram’s terms of use. So I created a hashtag and invited people to use it if they’d like to be featured. Essentially covering my butt, because people shouldn’t/wouldn’t use it unless they wanted me to repost their picture, right? And the two years have gone by and it’s grown into a little thing and most people don’t even know where it originates from anymore. And I still haven’t been asked to collaborate on anything so I’ve just been chugging along as a lone ranger of the Insta world. Inviting 30 people, without question or judgment, to guest host on the second photo a day challenge. I took people with a couple hundred, a couple thousand and tens of thousands of followers. I wanted to build community and friendships and help boost recognition for accounts that were smaller. But I still haven’t been invited to collaborate on anything. And then a good friend points out that a group of gals spun off my hashtag. It’s literally the hashtag I created with shelfie at the end. And, as you guessed, I wasn’t invited to collaborate on it. Now, I don’t own the rights to Show Me Your Boho or anything like that. But I considered some of these gals friends. I would’ve welcomed them with arms in the next boho photo a day challenge. But that same sisterhood wasn’t reciprocated. Sometimes I feel more alone than ever.

Everything keeps going wrong. Always.

Then there’s my toilet. We have one toilet in the house. And, for some karmic reason, the wax seal continuously stops working. I’d noticed my bathroom beginning to have a funky smell so I sat down and hand scrubbed everything. And then it started to come back. And then I noticed wetness around the toilet. And a bit more. It’s not misaimed pee from a 5 year old. My wax seal isn’t working to seal the toilet again. If I could figure out why this keeps happening, I’d surely fix that instead of buying wax seals over and over. But I can’t figure out why the damned toilet won’t stay sealed. It doesn’t rock. It doesn’t shift. It just leaks. So, I need to take the shelves down from around it. Shelves, ironic, right? And get help pulling the toilet out. I think I’ll have to move my wicker cabinet out of the bathroom for this process, too. And I’ll scrub the shit (literally) out of the floor, we’ll put down a new seal, and I’ll pray it seals for good… this time.

Everything keeps going wrong. Always.

I have two cats. The one you always see is Zen and she’s pretty fabulous because she cuddles and shakes her leg when you scratch her chest and comes up to any of us when we are upset. She’s basically a therapy cat. But her adopted sister is Bo and Bo kinda sucks. She’s super skiddish. She hides from us all the time and if that means she has to use the bathroom underneath a piece of furniture to avoid us, she’ll do it. Within the past couple of months, she’s started sneaking outside and running away for a few days at a time. If she wants to be a feral cat, than so be it. It’s kind of hard to force a cat to stop that and she’s fixed so at least she wouldn’t be getting knocked up. But after a few day, once she realizes she’s cold and hungry, she sneaks back into the house. By the time I find her in the house, I don’t know how long she’s been in the house. I don’t know if she’s been exposed to rabies, or feline leukemia, or any array of different diseases and illnesses that a cat could come in contact with outside. My fear is that she will sneak into the house, expose my good cat and my dog to something, leave them ill and just run away again. She also has horrible poops after she’s been out and it’s insult upon injury. I don’t want to clean it up.

Everything keeps going wrong. Always.

This past summer I kept begging for rain. My herbs and tomatoes and flowers really needed it. My mom would get rain just a few miles over in the next city but I’d just have clouds. Now that all my plants are nearing death for Fall, it’s been raining for a week straight.

Everything keeps going wrong. Always.

My son’s toads died. They were fine and a few days later they were skin and bones. We’d taken them for a swim in all the rain water that had collected in the kiddy pool we have out for them. I was just making plans for making their tank extra cool for going into my son’s room.

Everything keeps going wrong. Always.

I had a pack of graham crackers out. They were opened. All the rain has the air so humid that they went soggy after two hours.

Everything keeps going wrong. Always.

One of my most favorite things to do, ever, is light hiking. I like getting my heart rate up a bit with some incline, but I don’t want to bring special equipment or camping gear just to get from point A to point B. But I have arthritis in my knees which makes it difficult for me to do this. Some days are good. Those are usually the days I don’t have someone who can watch my son.

Everything keeps going wrong. Always.

I pretty much always feel like I’m holding my breath. As soon as I sit down and repeat a mantra to myself about how grateful I am for something, something happens to that something. I could be homeless. And hungry. My son could be taken from me. I could have a husband who beats me. Or disfiguring acne. I could be working two jobs trying to pay bills and childcare. I could be in sex trafficking or forced labor. I could have jiggers in my feet. I could be in a hospital with cancer.

Everything keeps going wrong. Always.

Things aren’t as wrong as they could be, but I still struggle to be grateful and that makes me feel even worse. I think everyone wants a break sometimes. For things to go smoothly for a bit before the next hurdle comes. I wish I were resilient enough to take these things with stride, spin them into a positive and move forward with life.

There are lots of people who sleep on the floor. Without a roof over their head and a blanket over them.

There are lots of people who want to homeschool their children, but can’t because they have to work.

There are lots of parents who want the chance to spend time with their children after working through their baby and toddler years, but can’t because they work.

There are a lot of people who wish they had a washer and dryer. And even the ones who do, would wish they had someone like my dad to help them figure out what’s wrong with them when they break.

There are people who don’t have internet. Or smartphones. And even ones who do, most of them don’t have time to manage social media, a blog, and an accompanying hashtag.

There are people who don’t have toilets. And people who wouldn’t have a bit of extra income to fix their toilet should it break.

There are people who wish they had pets but can’t because their situation leaves them in housing that won’t allow it, time that won’t allow it, or allergies that won’t allow it.

The rain will pass.

My son will have other pets.

I can buy more graham crackers.

I can still walk.

I know in my brain that I have things to be grateful for, to move forward for, but yet I can’t make myself feel it in my heart. I’m not happy and I don’t know how to change that. I feel alone, I feel tired, I feel unsuccessful, I feel frustrated, I feel ungrateful.

Everything keeps going wrong. Always.

12 totally unique DIY halloween decorations

October 13, 2017 by CORINNA HENDERSON

Halloween can get pretty repetitive with the orange, green and black. The classic decorations come back every year. But Halloween decorating can be so much more creative than that! From themes to unique DIY Halloween decorations, here are five ways you can break free from the usual decorating mold and have something truly unique:

12 DIY Halloween Decorations Ideas

These ideas range from full blown themed displays-homes to a simple idea to incorporate here and there. I hope they inspire you to take on the fun task of DIY Halloween decorations this year and next to create your own unique Halloween decorated spaces.

1. Masquerade Themed Fireplace Mantle

I’ve never seen a Halloween themed this good before. It suits to mysteriousness that comes with Halloween without being cutesy and boring. It’s Halloween all grown up with serious style. Find more photos and ideas to get the look at Domicile 37.

2. Vintage Glam Halloween Decorating Ideas

Most people don’t pair “vintage glam” with “Halloween” but what a beautiful vignette it creates, amiright? The muted tones and pops of metallic are an ultra stylish way of welcoming the season and holiday. I love the combination of that glam bunting and the rustic cheesecloth. Visit Number Fifty Three blog for more photos and ideas.

3. A No-Mantle Potions themed Halloween vignette

Sure, witches are part of traditional Halloween decor, but this high contrast black on white makes it a modern and fresh. Fill in the surrounding space with creepy, witchy details and you have a multi sensory vignette. I know how hard it can be to fill in the space around a vignette to give it more presence and her solution was really, really good. Visit Remodelando la Casa for details on the backdrop and more photos.

4. Decomposing Composers themed Halloween Decor Inspiration

Another wildly creative theme perfectly suited for the Halloween spirit. Decomposing composers, because we love thinking about dead people this time of year, right? This theme came together with easy details and you can catch it all at Boxy Colonial.

5. A Boho Eclectic Maximalist Halloween Mantle

It was the first Halloween I had a mantel to decorate with and color, plants and general boho maximalistic tendencies were about. It goes to show you how switching in just a few key pieces can take your regular decor from season to holiday easily.

6. Trick Or Treat Halloween Mantel

Maybe you’re a fan of the traditional Halloween decor? It can still look stylish without looking like it came straight from the plastic-palooza section at your local store. Adding in a few creative, handmade elements and vintage pieces makes it personal and beautiful. Just check out all the things Thoughts from Alice did to pull together this one of a kind mantel.

I love a good play on words, especially when it’s the start of an epic Halloween themed porch. This beats any Halloween sign I’ve seen in any store, ever. If they’re serving breakfast and there’s a vacancy, why not take the chance? lol. Cassie Bustamante shares her Halloween porch decorated and there’s loads of inspiration besides the sign you should check out.

Autumn Bucket List (Things to do in Fall)

I can feel it coming in the air tonight… Autumn is nearly here! What a joy. I start to feel the excitement when the faint hint of crispness hits the air. Fall is my favorite season. There are so many great things to do in Fall. Somehow I always miss doing activities so this year […]

Starting LDN and everything else I’ve tried for CFS so far…

I’ve been taking low dose naltrexone (ldn) for just over a month at this point and I wanted to share an update on how it’s been going thus far. I started taking ldn because I tried everything else in an attempt to feel better. At my last PCP appointment, I told him I’d be trying […]

Checkerboard: The Latest Insta-Trend

You ever first see a trend and think, “nope, not for me.” That was, and still a little, me with the checkerboard trend. I’ve never liked checkerboard walls or floors. At least not enough to semi-permanently put it somewhere in my home. But I am still in pursuit of an interior design certificate and job […]

My best Amazon Prime Purchases Ever

I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that it’s time for Amazon’s annual Prime day. And you likely don’t need me to tell you about my best Amazon Prime purchases ever. But I’m telling you, these are such good products and I got them for a steal too!

Celebrating Pride Month With LGBT Businesses

Part of mindful consumerism, for me at least, is intentionally seeking out companies founded and owned by marginalized communities. Heritage and pride months are the perfect reminder to seek out alternative sources for goods and services. Join me in celebrating pride month with LGBT businesses below.

AAPI Skincare & Beauty Haul & Demo (dry skin, fragrance sensitive)

As my mental health has improved, I’ve enjoyed getting back into my mindfulness consumerism series. With AAPI month upon us, and quickly coming to an end, I took stock of what I needed to purchase and set out to buy replacements from AAPI skincare and beauty brands. I needed face wash, serum, and oil. For […]

Simple Minty Eye Makeup Look (Indigenous Beauty Brands)

As much as I loathe dealing with fallout atop base makeup, I still always start with base makeup. But lucky for me, there’s no powder products going on my eyes today. Despite being a simpler makeup look, there’s still a lot of drama going on. A sharp cat eye winged liner elevates the eyes. And […]

Indigenous Owned Shopping Faves

You’re shopping. Here’s everything you need to be shopping for from indigenous owned brands. From beauty to fashion to accessories and body care, these products are top tier. These may be my indigenous owned shopping faves, but they’re quality from design to ingredients to workmanship.

Full Face Latinx Brands

From September 15 – October 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month. During this time I wanted to put together a full face of Hispanic owned beauty brands. Some of these brands are well known and others are smaller brands. I tried to find a balance of big name beauty brands and up and coming. After testing […]

Here’s My Faves for Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month is upon us! It’s always my goal to be mindful of where I’m spending my money. During Heritage and Pride months, I try to make an effort to seek out brands that I may not otherwise be aware of. It’s no surprise, what’s out there is truly amazing. And I want to […]

The Year of 25 Projects

The Year of 25 Projects

For the past few years, I’ve wanted to start the year with a list of home projects. These are projects I want to accomplish in the upcoming year. However, something always distracts me, and I end up not following through. Things have been going smoothly for the past six months, and I believe I’m finally […]

Honoring Indigenous People for Heritage Month

I am sitting here, stuck, trying to come up with the best way to honor Indigenous People for this year’s Native American Heritage Month. While not indigenous myself, I do live on their land and benefit from work they’ve done. I want to give back communities that I admire and respect. Therefore, I want to […]

This collection features scenery, colors, flora and fauna analogous with Fall. If you appreciate easy and free decorating, you’re in the right […]

Is it safe to buy makeup on Poshmark?

You probably know that you can buy clothing and accessories on Poshmark, but did you know you could buy makeup, too? I was skeptical when I first came across this. Is it safe to buy makeup on Poshmark? I had to know. So, I placed several orders, with several different sellers, and I’ve had a […]
