Sure, Valentine’s day is on the horizon but there’s seemingly always some reason to need a gift. Therefore I bring you a timeless, useful list of practical gifts. Some, if not all, of these gifts can be used and appreciated all year long. Even better, they’re all around $35. It’s a gifting win-win-win. You win, they win, and I win for having successfully facilitated a great gift giving experience. Please tell me you get the reference.

Whether its self care, gadgets, wearables, or useables, there’s an action you can take to elevate the gift to something even more meaningful. I’ve got actionable ideas for each gift below. Details are accurate at the time of publishing.

1. Upgraded Laptop Stand

For those times it’s nicer to work from the cozy spot. Or maybe have some breakfast in bed? Whatever it’s used for, it’s got features they’ll love. For starters, a section of it can be adjusted to different angles. There’s also a cup holder with a flat section for notes or computer mouse. It has sturdy fold out legs and a baffle to keep books or laptop from slipping.

2. Pretty Food Storage

They’re cute and durable and not likely to warp or stain like plastic. An attractive color and 3 sizes make it cute and practical. Consider filling them each with nice treats like chocolates or sweets. I admit I chose this one because the bamboo lids look really pretty with the mint color bowl.

3. Deluxe Electric Can Opener

For those times you aren’t around to open the can for them, get them a good quality electric can opener. This one is made with durable stainless steel and sits upright on the counter for easy use. Maybe add a few canned goods to the gift for a little humor.

4. Versatile Leather Portfolio

If you know anyone that needs to take notes, sort documents, show off their work or simply enjoys stationary and office supplies, get them a nice portfolio. This one does it all. A multitude of pockets including a zippered tablet sized pouch. There’s a removable ring binder as well as a pocket for holding a notepad. It’s all zippered within the zippered portfolio.

5. Attractive Tool Chest

You might think a tool chest is only for the specific few but it’s more versatile than that. It makes for a creative makeup, stationary, crafts organizer too. It’s smaller in size making it portable and the bright orange color means they’ll never lose it (but there’s practically every color out there).

6. Combination Charger Mug Warmer

It happens to all of us. Whatever we have in our mug goes cold before we’ve had a couple sips. What if I told you there was a solution for that and it doubles as a phone charger? Sure, we’ve all seen mug warmers before but it’s news to me that they can do more than that. This set includes the mug, the warmer/charger and a lid to complete the experience. Why not include their favorite coffee or tea or hot cocoa, too?

7. Premium Dopp Kit

I had to look up what a Dopp Kit was. Turns out it’s the same thing as a toiletry bag. This one though, it’s gorgeous. It’s made from leather and canvas. It hangs from a brass hook, has a zippered mesh pocket, clear plastic pocket, large main compartment, elastic loops, internal mesh pockets and an external zippered pocket. Leather straps are use to keep it rolled up when not hanging. You could take it up a notch by filling it with some nice toiletries.

8. Rechargeable Hand Warmers

For those times you can’t be there yourself to keep their hands warm. These hand warmers are rechargeable, magnetize together, and are really cute. It’s small enough to fit in most pockets and comes in other colors and designs, too. I like that it has 3 settings and has a run time of 4-6 hours. These would be nice gifted with warm gloves and hat, too.

9. 5-in-1 Hand Blender

I have a similar one from years ago and I love it. I use all the attachments all the time. It froths, it immersion blends, it grinds food, it whisks. Why not offer to show them all the cool things it can do and treat them to some goodies. Or include baking mix and hot cocoa.

10. Cordless Car Vacuum

Don’t let them get the wrong idea. It’s more than just a little hand vacuum. It also inflates tires and reads tire pressure. All that and a nifty LED light. I like that this one has washable HEPA filters. I’m sure they’d appreciate it more if you offer to do the first vacuuming. You could even include an air freshener or safety flashlight.

11. Self-Storing Hand Mixer

You don’t have to be a baker to enjoy this hand mixer. It’s got 5 speeds and 3 different stainless steel attachments. The attachments store within the attachable cover. Include baking mix or measuring spoons to add oomph to the gift. I liked that this one had a strong motor and it comes in a cute color.

12. Retro Laptop Backpack

You never know when a good backpack will come in handy. It’s nice to have one on hand for travel, commuting, hiking, school or a day trip. And this one is nice. Attractive fabric colors, multiple pockets, water bottle holder, internal strap to hold laptop in place, and an externally accessibly charging port. Slip a portable charger inside or a water bottle to enhance to experience.

13. Mini Can/Skincare Fridge

I adore ultra mini fridges. They’re good for storing skincare, juices, energy drinks, smoothies, cheese stash, candy. Include some of their favorites with the fridge, too! I enjoy the retro colors and styles but there’s gaming, minecraft, white board, and light up mirrored versions too.

14. Wireless Portable Charger

I’ve seen wireless chargers and I’ve seen portable chargers but I have never seen both in one. It still has ports for phones without wireless charging ability, too. I like that this one has a charge display so there’s no guessing how much charge it has. The kickstand is a brilliant touch and I like that it’ll stay attached to magnet friendly cases.

15. 5 Piece Cookware Set

Do they like to cook? Or maybe they just like to eat? This set is a brilliant space saver because one dish does multiple things with the included accessories. It can fry, it can steam, it can sauté, it can bake. I can’t say I know a lot about cookware but I know that ceramic coating and an induction bottom are good things. Add to the gift by including an apron or meal mix.

16. Ceramic Baking Dishes

Along the same lines, you could gift nice baking dishes. Offer to make something in them or gift them with a nice dish already made (offer to wash them, too). They have many scents to choose from as well as bar soaps, hand soaps, lotions, candles. I chose this brand specifically because they use a lot of sustainable materials and the scent descriptions sound mesmerizing.

19. Attractive Jewelry Box

Jewelry boxes aren’t just for jewelry. An attractive jewelry box can house other accessories or mementos. I really liked this specific one because it’s so unique compared to what else is out there. The style is very on trend at the moment. It’s great to support a small business, too. Consider adding to the gift by including a piece of jewelry within or a nice jewelry polishing cloth.

20. Bluetooth Wireless Headphones

It’s hard to go wrong with headphones. Everyone needs one. This one runs an impressive 65 hours and comes in a variety of colors. Music modes, microphone, and deep bass are features will be appreciated. Did I mention they fold for ease of packing? These wont be breaking anytime soon either. It’s internal material where it adjusts is made from stronger than plastic metal.

21. Refillable Writing Journal

You don’t have to actually journal to love a journal. They’re fantastic for taking notes, making lists, doodling ideas, planning, small art and more. Leave a sweet message within for them to find and enjoy later. You could pair it with refills or a nice pen. All that and it’s a climate neutral small business.

22. Mulberry Silk Pillowcase

Mulberry silk is gentle on hair and skin making it perfect for those with skin or hair concerns. It’s luxurious look and feel will be appreciated by anyone though. I liked this one because it has a zipper closure so you don’t have to worry about the pillow slipping out at night. The cases come in many colors and designs and are offered by a small business.

23. Organic Tencel Sheet

There’s only so much you can do to help someone get better sleep. One of those things is good quality sheets. Tencel is silky soft and cooling and made from renewable eucalyptus. Offer to make their bed for them with it. Add to the gift by including a sleep eye mask or matching pillowcases.

Sales support nonprofit partners that work with feeding communities, planting trees, saving dogs and other organizations. I think it would be nice to pair them with a bath soak or slippers.

25. Collapsible Shopping Tote

Sometimes its nice just to make life a little bit easier. Use them while shopping in the cart, then load purchased items back into them at checkout, then place them directly into the vehicle’s trunk. It’s an ecofriendly option and it supports a small business. You could pair it with a shopping gift card or a cute hanging car charm.

26. Soothing Heating Pad

A long day, a good workout, rainy weather, I can think of so many reasons to use this heating pad. For those times you can’t be there for a sore back, neck, shoulders. Consider pairing it with a nice mug and some tea for a truly warming experience.

If my grandmother had Wi-Fi, she’d already have one of these. I think smart photo frames are brilliant for those you don’t see as often. They get the frame and you download an app where you can upload photos to the frame from anywhere. Imagine the things grandkids or a silly partner could upload. This stands alone as a great gift but you could pair it with a vase of flowers to expand on such a visual treat.

28. Relaxing Neck Massager

For when you can’t be there to rub their shoulder for them. I have one of these and I really enjoy it for soothing tension. I chose this one because I like the lighter color, it’s from a small business, and it has a heat function. You could pair this with a foot rub, nice oils, or a wax warmer to complete the relaxing experience.

29. Sustainable Water Bottle

You don’t have to be a health nut or eco warrior to love this water bottle. It comes in cute designs and a sleeve with strap to make bringing it anywhere easy. Did I mention it comes with a tea or fruit infuser and a cleaning brush? Not only does this set have everything, it’s made from sustainable materials like glass, bamboo and stainless steel. Don’t forget to check out local trails to find a spot to take them out to test their new bottle.

30. Hangable Luggage Organizer

Travelling anytime soon? This organizer is brilliant in that it goes straight from suitcase to hanging on a closet rod. You could take it up a notch and plan a trip to use it on. This one caught my attention because the shelves have mesh zip covers to keep things from falling out. And it has side pockets. It can stand alone, organize a bag, or organize a closet.

31. Cute Apron Set

Offer to test it out by making them a nice dinner. The set is made from cotton and silicone so it should last through lots of use and washes. I liked this set because the designs are cute, the neck is adjustable, cotton over polyester any day, and good features like the large pocket and hanging loops on everything.

32. Gardening Kneeler Stool

This multifunctional kneeler stool is a gardening must have. Converts from knee cushion to small bench seat. I chose this one because it comes with two tool pouches that can be worn around the waist or attach to the kneeler seat. The weight limit exceeds 300 pounds and that it’s made from steel. Try adding a nice watering can or some durable gardening tools.

33. Soft Muslin Blanket

Skip the polyester and go for a totally cotton, ultra light and super soft blanket. Pair it with a book they’ve been wanting or a nice candle in their favorite scent. I chose this one because it’s light enough for warmer seasons and layers well for colder seasons. Also, cotton is breathable and natural.

34. Silky Lyocell Robe

Add a little luxury to their getting ready routine with a silky dressing robe.
