Globein Bathe Artisan Box Unboxing

January 22, 2016 by CORINNA HENDERSON

It’s been a while since I last chatted about Globein, right? After Globein sent me the Celebrate box, I ended up signing up for a subscription out of pocket. GlobeIn is a subscription and shopping platform that connects artisans from around the world in a fair way to consumers like us. I just received my Bathe Artisan box this morning and I wanted to share what I got with you.

Before jumping into what I received in my box, I wanted to share what currently comes in GlobeIn’s bathe artisan box. It has been quite a while since receiving my bathe artisan box and some things have changed. Here’s what you can get today:

  • Pestemal Bath Towel from Turkey (Measurements: 66″ x 39″)
  • Small Tigre Handwoven Basket from Mexico (Color: Random Measurements: Approximately 6″ D, 6″ H)
  • Silk Face Scrub from Turkey (Measurements: 3″ x 2″)
  • Turkish Hand Towel from Turkey (Measurements: 20″ x 30″)
  • Organic Coconut Oil Wipes from Thailand (5 Count Pack)

First Impressions: GlobeIn Bathe Artisan Box

This month’s box is themed “Bathe.” Which I thought was really nice since I’m in the middle (well, kindof, more like towards the end) of a bathroom renovation so it’s nice to have some new bath goodies to check out and use.

When I opened the box I was happy to see the usual basket, this time in a kelly green. I already have an indigo, pink and fuschia one so the green was a nice switch. Not that I think I’d get tired of the colors I’d already received, they’re practical and I’m not off put by any particular color. But if you don’t like surprises with color like that, it’s worth noting that they are random. But if you get a color you don’t like, they make a great gift (you can always send it my way!).

I already knew to expect the towels and I’m not disappointed at all. Thankfully the colors I received are in the blue family so they’ll work seamlessly with our bathroom design. Just because you’re getting a handmade, fair trade, small business item doesn’t mean you’ll get skimped on size either. A few months ago I had bought turkish towels on Amazon and the towel that came in this Artisan box is the same size. It’s soft and classic as far as feel and look.

I’m not familiar with turkish hand towels. The hand towel is thicker than the body towel and the backside has the same texture as any other bath towel. The fringe is not braided, but still very pretty. And the towel overall is bigger than any cheapo hand towel I’d pick up from a department store. And it’s soft. That matters, too.

There were three more items in the box. A lotion, a bar of soap, and a silk face scrub.

All of the items were exciting, but the one I’m most excited about is the silk face scrub. It’s not a mask, nor a liquid scrub, nor a face wash. It’s a silk woven pouch that you put your fingers in and rub over your face. The most natural exfoliator ever, I’d say!

The bar of soap smells like lemongrass and black pepper. It’s not a sweet scent. I like it a lot. I haven’t tried it and I don’t think I will until after I finish my current Pacifica bar of soap. But the price is similar so if it works well I may very well switch over to support the small business. Update: Tried it and loved it. Have bought many items from the brand at this point. Their bubble bath is a repeat purchase here.

And finally the lotion is shea and red palm and the scent is mango citrus. It’s smells amazing. It doesn’t feel like it’ll be heavy enough for my poor moisture lacking skin but it smells so good, I bet it’ll make a fantastic hand lotion.

That’s everything I received in my box and my thoughts. If you’re interested in watching my initial reaction during the unboxing, I did video that and it’s embedded above (in case you missed that). If you’d like to sign up, New customers can use coupon code BEDROOM to save 25% off their first month’s box with a purchase of a 3+ month Artisan Box subscription.

I hope this was helpful! Have a great day 🙂

Starting LDN and everything else I’ve tried for CFS so far…

I’ve been taking low dose naltrexone (ldn) for just over a month at this point and I wanted to share an update on how it’s been going thus far. I started taking ldn because I tried everything else in an attempt to feel better. At my last PCP appointment, I told him I’d be trying […]

Checkerboard: The Latest Insta-Trend

You ever first see a trend and think, “nope, not for me.” That was, and still a little, me with the checkerboard trend. I’ve never liked checkerboard walls or floors. At least not enough to semi-permanently put it somewhere in my home. But I am still in pursuit of an interior design certificate and job […]

My best Amazon Prime Purchases Ever

I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that it’s time for Amazon’s annual Prime day. And you likely don’t need me to tell you about my best Amazon Prime purchases ever. But I’m telling you, these are such good products and I got them for a steal too!

Celebrating Pride Month With LGBT Businesses

Part of mindful consumerism, for me at least, is intentionally seeking out companies founded and owned by marginalized communities. Heritage and pride months are the perfect reminder to seek out alternative sources for goods and services. Join me in celebrating pride month with LGBT businesses below.

AAPI Skincare & Beauty Haul & Demo (dry skin, fragrance sensitive)

As my mental health has improved, I’ve enjoyed getting back into my mindfulness consumerism series. With AAPI month upon us, and quickly coming to an end, I took stock of what I needed to purchase and set out to buy replacements from AAPI skincare and beauty brands. I needed face wash, serum, and oil. For […]

Simple Minty Eye Makeup Look (Indigenous Beauty Brands)

As much as I loathe dealing with fallout atop base makeup, I still always start with base makeup. But lucky for me, there’s no powder products going on my eyes today. Despite being a simpler makeup look, there’s still a lot of drama going on. A sharp cat eye winged liner elevates the eyes. And […]

Full Face Latinx Brands

From September 15 – October 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month. During this time I wanted to put together a full face of Hispanic owned beauty brands. Some of these brands are well known and others are smaller brands. I tried to find a balance of big name beauty brands and up and coming. After testing […]

Here’s My Faves for Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month is upon us! It’s always my goal to be mindful of where I’m spending my money. During Heritage and Pride months, I try to make an effort to seek out brands that I may not otherwise be aware of. It’s no surprise, what’s out there is truly amazing. And I want to […]

Honoring Indigenous People for Heritage Month

I am sitting here, stuck, trying to come up with the best way to honor Indigenous People for this year’s Native American Heritage Month.
