It is my goal to reduce my impact on Earth as much as possible. Where manageable, I utilize recycled materials. Then I aim to use biodegradable and compostable materials. Ultimately using as little plastic as possible.
The paper insert is made from 50% recycled content and the renewable Daphne bush. The water used to make the paper is reclaimed and reused. The Bush bark provides material for the paper and the remainder of the plant is dried to provide heat and fuel to the Nepali craftspeople that make the paper.
The paper is not only eco friendly in how it’s made, it’s recyclable, compostable and plantable. The seeds embedded in this paper are a mix of annuals and perennials snapdragon, petunia, beardtongue, Daisy, thyme, poppy, foxglove, catch fly, maiden pinks and chamomile. They need about 4 hours of direct sunlight and grow to be approximately 3 feet tall.
The clear tape I use for protecting shipping labels uses cotton pulp, wood pulp and other natural cellulose as raw materials. The pressure sensitive adhesive is water based. The tape is biodegradable and compostable.
I also use paper tape for sealing packages. It is also biodegradable and compostable.
The shipping mailer bags that I use are made from corn starch. They are fully biodegradable and compostable.
The shipping boxes that I use are repurposed boxes from shipping and product boxes. I cut and reshape boxes to best fit products for most economical shipping.
The ink cartridges I use for printing materials are remanufactured. Remanufactured cartridges are used cartridges that have been refilled. Ultimately saving more plastic cartridges from being made and tossed.
