Epic Etsy Find: Encapsulated Flower Crystals

March 24, 2017 by CORINNA HENDERSON

The next discovery in my “Epic Etsy Finds & The Shops Behind Them” series is a a wonderfully whimsical one. Handmade encapsulated tumbled crystals and dried flowers are set in a resin mold shaped like various sized crystals. They’re lightweight and curiously interesting to look at. Love by my friends and family so far, it’s always an item that draws the fingers. Though not actual crystals themselves, there still seems to be an energy within them that radiates an energy that everyone must feel. Solaras Garden is where you can find these “crystals.”

Do you find yourself drawn to elements of the earth? Drawn to the sea, rocks, crystals and fresh breeze? You probably have your own crystals, precious stones, plants and carved wood decor about your home. You may find yourself having hippie, gypsy or bohemian tendencies. If you do, you’re probably always on the look for unique decor. Handmade or found items that speak their own unique tale within your own life’s story.

Shanna has an array of crystals available in her shop. Filled with dried flowers, seahorses and more, they can be bought in singles or sets.

She sent me a set of three (with no obligation to write a blog post I’ll add). So far I’ve enjoyed displaying them together the most. I have a thing about sets and displaying things in threes so this is working best for me. I currently have them displayed on shelves I put up above the toilet in my bathroom. I encourage lingering no matter what the room in my home. A sensory experience is what I lust after and these have been the perfectly interesting piece.

As with everything unique and peculiar, you just have to check them out. You can visit her shop here, but I’ll share a few of my favorites below if you just want a quick glance. I hope you’ve enjoyed this find within the series!

What are your favorites? That pink larkspur sure does make my heart go pitter patter. Do you bring a little whimsy into your decor? In what ways do you do that? You have to let me in on your ways 😉

eef&tsbt: Modern Boho Art Prints

February 27, 2017 by CORINNA HENDERSON

To add a retro art deco feel to your bohemian home, an easy art solution is modern style art prints. I first discovered these prints through Instagram. A few of my friends had shared styled photos with the MotivatedArt prints and I was hooked on the hip vibe they have. I’ve played around with 4 of them in person now and I have a second set of 4 I want to share with you just to give you more ideas on how versatile and complimentary the prints are. MotivatedArt on Etsy provided me with the prints in exchange for sharing them. The styling and thoughts are all my own though.

I hated that the way the light shines through this room makes the frames constantly look crooked no matter how leveled they are. So I looked around for other places to put them and I ended up splitting the quad and put one on my newly installed bathroom shelves.

I've been working on getting various shelves up in the bathroom all day and as a result I missed seeing that there's 25 thousand boho babes here! Thank you for validating my journey and thank you for sharing yours with me through #showmeyourboho. I have been collecting things for a while now to do a giveaway. Keep an eye out for that this week!

And because I realize showing you only vertical prints does those of you looking for horizontal prints no good, here are 4 favorites I picked to share with you. Perfect as a quad or split them up for a cohesive art story around a room or even your house. Or display just one of 30, you do you boo.

Do you let yourself have fun with inexpensive art prints? You ought to, of course. There are so many different prints to peruse, all with a chic modern vibe to them. What kinds of prints do you tend to gravitate towards?

EEF&TSBT: The Cozy Casita

December 7, 2016 by CORINNA HENDERSON

In an effort to eliminate some of the world’s longest blog post titles, I’ve abbreviated one of favorite series I do here: Epic Etsy Finds & The Shops Behind Them (EEF&TSBT for short). Today I want to pop in a share a little shop that I discovered and let you preview a bit yesterday: The Cozy Casita. She uses talavera tiles to adorn trays mostly, but you can also find mailboxes, boxes and coasters. Reach out to her if you’re interested in something specific, she does entertain custom orders.

My two favorite colors are teal and pink. As far as creating something unique for me, I’m pretty difficult with being specific in my requests. I’d seen she used a lot of Frida tiles and I adore Frida so I told her to use one if she can. The trays can also be painted or left in a natural wood state.

Would you like to see how my tray turned out?

I’ve made some tea and picked up some festive cookies just in case you stopped by hungry today. The tile combination is so pretty. Still typical or mexican talavera tiles but the colors are a bit unique from what you’d usually see.

I love the whimsy and absolute practicality these have. And they’re incredibly sturdy, I don’t feel like it’ll break with regular use.

Especially with the time of year we’re in, I wanted to share this shop as an option for gift giving, too. I know I would love to receive one as a gift. Paired with some cute mugs or a food gift set, it’s a gift that inspires and continues to be useful.

If you’d like to check out The Cozy Casita, you can do so by clicking here to visit the Etsy shop. I’ve also included 3 of my personal favorites listed in her shop right now below:

I hope you enjoy these little shops I share with you and that you’re having a wonderful holiday season. Make sure you check back for tomorrow’s post- lot’s of ideas for stocking stuffers coming your way!

Epic Etsy Finds & The Shops Behind Them: Ball And Claw Vintage

April 17, 2016 by CORINNA HENDERSON

Epic Etsy Finds and The Shops Behind Them- part II

If you know anything about me by now, I love to get off topic. Especially when a room has a deadline. Instead of talking about the dining room I’m supposed to be working on, I wanted to chat a little bit today about another Epic Etsy find of mine and the shop behind the item! Because every great item on Etsy has an awesome shop behind it. Today, the spotlight is on Ball and Claw Vintage.

Have you seen their Instagram feed– holy beautiful boho!

So the reason why I wanted to chat about this particular shop today is because of their mud cloth inventory. And the reason why I wanted to chat about indigo mud cloths is because they are really beautiful faux upholstery fabrics. I love draping them over a chair, tucking it into the sides and keeping it that simple to cover old/ugly fabric.

And here’s a really cute clock I picked up to eventually use in my son’s room when that space gets finished. I love the turquoise!

The shop has a lot of other really cool merchandise, too. You’ll see the merchandise styled in their Instagram feed to give you an idea of their potential, but these pieces will look so good in an array of space. Here are a few of my faves:

Isn’t their stuff so cool? Perfect if you’re loving boho vibes like I do! Or if you just need a dose of cool textiles, they’ve surely got you covered. If you stop by their Instagram or Etsy shop, be sure to tell them I sent you.

Epic Etsy Finds & The Shops Behind Them: Pursuing Vintage

March 8, 2016 by CORINNA HENDERSON

pursuing vintage disclaimeramazing vintage and handmade home decor made easy- find all the best ertsy shops through the epic etsy finds and the shops behind them series

I’m starting a new series where I share with you the epic Etsy finds I come across and the Etsy shops behind them. There are some truly amazing Etsy shops out there. Some of them I come back to time and time again because they always have new merchandise that I’m excited about. You know that vintage home decor is kind of my things. I just love an authentic aged look at the story behind each piece. I also love whimsy and a globally inspired collection of goods. So I hope this series brings you closer to the amazing shops I frequent.

The first shop on my list is Pursuing Vintage. The name is epic, right? So naturally the selection would be, too. The shop owner is Kristen and she’s the blog author of PursuingVintage.com. Her blog covers a variety of home decor trends, vintage finds and inspiration. She’s really well spoken (written?) and I love reading her posts. Her shop is an extension of that blog where she shares trending vintage home decor.

Did you catch my Boho Home Decor “Must Haves” from last week? If you want to start looking at Imari or chinoiserie in general, she’s a great place to start. She has several Imari pieces and loads of ginger jars, blue and white ceramic, and vases. She also has an extensive collection of brass to choose from- what’s not to love? As is always the case with these types of shops, quantities are limited and stock always changes, so snatch up what you want while you can.

Here are two pieces I have in my home that I shared on my Instagram:

I hope you find this series helpful. We all know we can find what everyone else has at Target, but for a truly eclectic, collected, homey look you’ll want to sprinkle in one of a kind pieces. I’m on a mission to bring you the best places to find those kinds of pieces so keep a look out! You can sign up for email updates so you’ll be notified the next time I have an epic Etsy shop to share with you.

Starting LDN and everything else I’ve tried for CFS so far…

I’ve been taking low dose naltrexone (ldn) for just over a month at this point and I wanted to share an update on how it’s been going thus far. I started taking ldn because I tried everything else in an attempt to feel better. At my last PCP appointment, I told him I’d be trying […]

Checkerboard: The Latest Insta-Trend

You ever first see a trend and think, “nope, not for me.” That was, and still a little, me with the checkerboard trend. I’ve never liked checkerboard walls or floors. At least not enough to semi-permanently put it somewhere in my home. But I am still in pursuit of an interior design certificate and job […]

My best Amazon Prime Purchases Ever

I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that it’s time for Amazon’s annual Prime day. And you likely don’t need me to tell you about my best Amazon Prime purchases ever. But I’m telling you, these are such good products and I got them for a steal too!

AAPI Skincare & Beauty Haul & Demo (dry skin, fragrance sensitive)

As my mental health has improved, I’ve enjoyed getting back into my mindfulness consumerism series. Simple Minty Eye Makeup Look (Indigenous Beauty Brands)

As much as I loathe dealing with fallout atop base makeup, I still always start with base makeup. But lucky for me, there’s no powder products going on my eyes today. Despite being a simpler makeup look, there’s still a lot of drama going on. A sharp cat eye winged liner elevates the eyes. And […]

From September 15 – October 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month. During this time I wanted to put together a full face of Hispanic owned beauty brands.
