Every well designed space mixed colors and patterns. But the key formula for each space is going to be different. Everyone has different tastes and that’s totally okay. If you’re finding yourself stuck sometimes when pulling things together in a space and you’re a fan of modern bohemian style, I can totally give you some ideas to browse. And maybe you’ll love one of these pairings enough to want to bring it home. I’ll let you decide where these Tips for Bohemian Chic Style Textiles take you.

Fresh Boho Spring Home Tour
Greetings! Today we are embracing the upcoming Spring season with 2018 Blogger Spring Home Tours for all of the current Spring decorating inspiration. With a variety of decor styles, you’re sure to find something new to try in your home this Spring as you make your way through the 25 blog posts curated with warmer days and new blooms in mind.
I’m grateful Monica pulled together this amazing event full of Spring homes tours with inspiration with all the best. Hopefully you’re following along the tours and you’re stopping by from Jessica’s blog. I know Jessica from Instagram and my blogging loving little heart swelled when I found she was also a blogger. That woman’s talent is inspiring! That said, my name is Corinna and I am the person who writes this blog. I have had a livelong love of creating things, rearranging furniture and general hippie stuff. So sprung my little bohemian interiors blog to fill that joy until I start school for interior design. If you’ve missed any of the other tours this week, please refer to the line up at the end of this post.
Fresh Boho Spring Home Tour
For Spring, I spend the majority of my focus on clearing things out and brightening up the main rooms of the house. I swap out textiles for lighter versions. I do a little furniture rearranging. And once the flowers start blooming, I’ll have blooms in more vases around the house. For now? It’s mostly just greenery.
Living Room
Whimsical birds and brighter, lighter textures fill the space. I also happened to swap the loving room with the bedroom rug which definitely changed up the vibe in favour of Spring.

Dining Room
The dining room was set for a Spring tablescape last week and I shared the details in my botanical boho Spring table setting post if you’d like to see more. I brought in a splash of color with the fuschia tablecloth tapestry.

Bedroom
In the bedroom, I lightened up the bedding and added floral sheets. I put my 5 minute dollar store spring wreath on the headboard and added a vase of flowers to liven up the space for these warmer months coming soon.

I am the last stop on the roster for the home tours, but if you’ve missed any of it- you can start at the beginning with Jest Cafe or start today’s tours at PMQ for two. Thank you for stopping by. If you have any questions, comments or feedback please use the comment form below to get in touch. I love hearing from you.

Boho Bedroom Decor You Can Make

Shopping for pieces to decorate your bedroom can be a lot of fun. But let’s be real, we want to make some things, too! Compliment your bohemian aesthetic with these three do-it-yourself projects.
Boho bedrooms tend to have a lot of the same elements as the other rooms of the home. They use layers and patterns to create a visual experience. But the bedroom also needs to be a place of comfort, and rest for our rejuvenation. Adding in some handmade details can remind us of our powerful ability to create and these projects compliment an atmosphere for relaxing.
Don’t forget! You can always adjust sizes and materials to fit your specific color and style preferences. These tutorials will show you how I made these things for my space but there are easy ways to change them up to fit yours ????

DIY Tiled Headboard
Get the anthropologie look with inexpensive tiles, a piece of plywood and a few tools!
Southwestern Inspired Plant Pots
Take plain plant pots up a level by embellishing them with an unexpected material!

Handira Inspired Yarn Wall Hanging
Using a variety of different texture mimics the look of the esteemed handira blankets that originate from Morocco.

I hope you’ve enjoyed these easy ways to add a handmade detail to your boho bedroom. You should definitely try your hand at making one- tag me in your photos on Instagram so I can share your creations (@thebohoabode).

The Global Styler: Tiled Headboard

Bringing the global decor look to your home adds a richness that is unmatched. An appreciation for other cultures is unique to each person and bringing that interest to how you decorate makes the space more definitively yours. For me, I’ve always been obsessed with lanterns, embroidered fabrics, patterned tiles and weavings. Where in the world will you find all these things? Morocco.
This month I’ll be taking on the $100 room challenge and the room I’ll be making over is my bedroom. When the theme, “PATTERN,” was chosen for this month, I knew I wanted to cheat a little and try out a project I’d had on my mind for a while.
Stephanie from Casa Watkind Living and Kathy from Up To Date Interiors are also sharing global inspired projects today with the theme Pattern. Make sure to stick around until the end and head their way next.

Tile
Construction adhesive
Plywood
Clamp
Screws
Power drill

1. Have the home improvement store cut the plywood (1/2 in. X 4 ft. X 8 ft.) At 44 inches and then the remainder in half.
2. On the halves pieces (approximately 26 inches), use the construction adhesive to attach the tiles to the plywood.
3. With a rag and stain, wipe over the 44 inch piece and around the tiles.
4. Lay the 44 inch piece over top the halves pieces and press the pieces together until the tiles meet up to the sides of the 44 inch piece.
5. Use wood screws to attach at the bottom. Place a dollop of construction adhesive between the pieces at the top and clamp.
6. Once adhesive dries, secure the top with more screws from the back.
7. Drill from the back of Tara bed headboard frame to secure headboard to bed.

It’s much bigger than the DIY headboard I had in here before. I find the larger more stately furniture to be more reminiscent of middle eastern style than the low profile is Scandinavian. I like the impact.
Now, my friends are also sharing globally inspired pattern projects today. Here they are:

Colorful Eclectic Christmas Tour
It never fails, every year on November 1st I drag our Christmas tree out of storage and put it up. For 10 months out of the year I refrain from decorating for Christmas. But for the months of November and December, I like to focus on adding magical Christmas charm.
And here we are, less than 20 days before my favorite day of the year. I love Christmas. And I’m still not done. But it’s The White Buffalo Styling Co‘s Holiday themed Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours time. If you’re stopping by from Cuckoo for Design, Hello and Thank you for visiting today!
I’m also linking this tour to the Holiday Housewalk party hosted by Jennifer Rizzo.

I’m also sharing this tour as part of The Nester’s Holiday Home Tours.
I’d love to show you two spaces today. I’ll start with the living room and then I’ll show you a peek into my sanctuary.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…
I like to teeter on the edge of subtle with Christmas decor. Just enough embellishments and swapping out a couple year round pieces for Christmas specific ones is the approach I take.

Oh Colorful Christmas Tree…
I’m sure my tree just looks like a hot mess of ornaments threw up on it and haphazardly threw some pink pompom garland in the mix. But that’s kind of the rules of my tree decorating game. I love funky bright colors, ornaments from and inspired by around the world, and whimsical little touches.

Not A Creature Was Stirring…
In my bedroom, I chose to go soft and simple with my decorating. Some faux greenery draped over the head of the bed, a funky tree pick in the pothos and a votive filled with cinnamon sticks adds just enough sparkle to make the room magical.

I hope you’ve found inspiration or an idea or two here. Please be sure to let me know if you have an questions or comments below using the comment form. The next stop on the Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours is Dimples and Tangles. I know you’ll enjoy your visit there!

Redesigning our home’s layout ?!
I just can’t keep things simple with our house for long. My brain gets too creative looking at walls, imagining them gone and looking beyond the obvious constraints of the current layout.
It all started with yet another exhaustion met morning where I’m laying in bed unable to sleep in because the sound of the neighbor kids playing basketball is keeping me up. I love that they’re good kids filling their time with exercise, but golly I just don’t sleep so great these days.
I’m thinking about how I wish the bedrooms were at the back of the house. My bedroom has wonderful light and lots of windows, but they’re older windows and they let a lot of noise in.
One random thought to another and I’d been sleepless another hour. I’d dropped thinking of ideas and went about my day just to start thinking about it again. Without taking on the renovations and costs of an addition, how could I get the bedroom to the back of the house?
Well, there’s a room at the back of the house. It’s not a bedroom though. There’s a pass thru to the kitchen, no door, the back door, no closet.
Yeah… but there’s no noise from the street. The room is at the back of the house.
I could close up the pass thru. It’s pretty high up on my wish list to put a window in the kitchen anyways.
And putting in a closet system to section off a bedroom space from the path between the kitchen and back door wouldn’t be terribly difficult. Maybe even look into an IKEA system. That would fix the issue with the closet and the back door being in the space.
And that room doesn’t get morning sun. No instant warming up of the space on summer mornings! No early morning sun peeping around my currents.
This could actually work.
New Bedroom Wish List
But, wait. What about all the stuff in that room. You don’t want a dining room in a bedroom. That’s silly. And 4 bedrooms? A bit overkill. Especially without a 2nd bathroom to match those stats. More living space is definitely crucial.
You know, I’d always wanted to take down the wall between the living room and kitchen to do an open concept vibe.
But I’m loving the current layout so much with the TV on that wall!
The wall between that bedroom and the living room isn’t load bearing. And I have friends who deal with electrical work. They could help move the plugs in the wall. The dining room at the front of the house would be nice.
And that would leave a separate “kids wing” – that sounds way fancier than a 1,200 square foot needs to sound on the one side of the house.
And even later down the road a bathroom could be added to the “master” at the back of the house.
I think my 5 year plan was just mapped out.
As for the next 6 weeks? That dining room is getting transformed into my bedroom.
To recap, here’s the very rough before layout of our home:

And here’s the very rough plan for the layout:

There are $0 and 0 sponsors so let’s see how creative I can get with reusing what I have, very inexpensive and resourceful changes and a fresh new space to work with.
I want to give a shout out and thank you to Linda of Calling It Home for organizing the One Room Challenge. Without it, I wouldn’t have the gumption to get up and make this happen. Check out all of the other participants transforming spaces here.
